Our Council Plan sets out a commitment for us to become carbon neutral by 2050. However, in line with other local councils, we're working to achieve this by 2030. 

Our low carbon strategy has been prepared, has been approved by our Executive and will be considered by full council in December 2021. The strategy aims to understand our carbon emissions, what steps can be taken to reduce them and how we can positively influence the wider district carbon footprint.
