We're inviting written comments on a change requested by St Gobain Glass to the emission limits at their Eggborough plant.
Saint-Gobain Glass (United Kingdom) Ltd has applied for a substantial change/derogation to their current permit.
They are producers of flat glass for the building industry and have been considering how to comply with the emission limit for Nitrous oxides (Nox) at their Eggborough plant. After trialling various “primary measures” (which are seen as the Best Environmental Option) they have decided that they need to install a “secondary measure” known as SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction).
However they do not have sufficient time to install this equipment before the new emission limit must be met ie 1 January 2020. They have, therefore, applied to Selby District Council for a Derogation to their current permit to allow them to carry on emitting Nox at the current allowed level until the end of June 2020.
The documents supplied in support of this application can be found here:
Any written comments on the application should be made to Selby District Council using the email address EHdutyofficer@selby.gov.uk by 17 September 2019.
Any written comments will be placed on the public register unless they include a statement requesting that this is not done. If there is such a request the register itself will just include a note that representations have been made which are not on the register because of such a request.
