What’s the job?

The successful candidate will work as part of the Asset Strategy and Property Services teams overseeing the financial and contractual activities of the department.

The work includes providing technical support and advice in the production, monitoring, and reporting of financial and contractor performance; working with managers across the team controlling and managing costs relating to the delivery of the capital investment, improvement, and development programs. 

Who are we looking for?

Qualified to degree level in a surveying related profession and with (or working towards) Chartered Member status of an appropriate professional body (e.g., RICS), you will have:

  • Detailed knowledge, experience and understanding of the legislative frameworks and working practices across the specialist areas of work (asset strategy and management, property maintenance, management and housing and commercial property development).
  • Thorough understanding of relevant national policy relating to property and housing management.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Knowledge of job-costing and component accounting principles.
  • Experience in cultural change; moving the department towards effective job-costing and the commercialisation of the service.
  • Knowledge to support, plan and review the financial modelling requirements of the various programmes, including cashflow forecasting, budget headroom profiling and provision of basic profit and loss accounts.
  • The ability to lead on the review and development of technical specification and pricing documentation for the services procurement requirements.
