Selby district is known for its superb connections to major cities, affordable business space, high-skilled workforces. As well as recognised as one of the best places to live in the UK.

In March Selby District Council were set to host their free Business Week event which included the highly anticipated Selby District Conference and Awards. However, due to Coronavirus the conference and awards had to be suspended.

To ensure businesses didn’t miss out officers have recently delivered the business awards to all winners and runners up from each category.

Councillor Cllr David Buckle, Lead Executive member for Economic Development, said. “Although we were unable to hold an official awards ceremony, I am still pleased to see so many great businesses in the district receive their awards.

“Selby is a great place to live, work and do businesses. The area has lots of potential and is a great place for businesses to develop. The council is always here to support businesses no matter their size or establishment.”

Winner awards went to:

Small Business of the Year award: ARC Workwear & PPE Limited from Sherburn in Elmet

New Business of the Year award: Stage Door Performing Arts from Sherburn in Elmet

Retail/Tourism/Leisure Business of the Year: The Drovers Arms from Skipwith

Exporter of the Year award: Semperfli Fly Tying Materials Ltd from Selby 

Growth Business of the Year award: Semperfli Fly Tying Materials Ltd from Selby 

Corporate, Environmental, Social Responsibility Business of the Year award: Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens and Plant Nursery from Stillingfleet

Creative & Digital Business of the Year award: Seven Video Productions from Church Fenton

Trades business of the Year award: Night Shift Servicing Ltd from Selby

 

Runners-up also received an award. The runners-up awards went to:

Growth Business of the Year award: Sherburn Community Gymnastics Club Ltd from Sherburn in Elmet

Corporate, Environmental, Social Responsibility Business of the Year award: Tadcrafters CIC from Tadcaster

Creative & Digital Business of the Year award: Creative Shed Ltd from Church Fenton

Trades business of the Year award: Devil is in the Detail Ltd from Selby
