Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner By-election

[Conservative] Zoe Metcalfe has been elected as the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for York and North Yorkshire.

Janet Waggott, Police Area Returning Officer for North Yorkshire Police Authority and Chief Executive of Selby District Council made the announcement today (26 November) at the count which took place in Selby.

After a two-stage count, the final results were: Zoe Metcalfe (Conservative) 41,760, Emma Scott-Spivey (Labour) 26,895.

The overall turnout for the by-election was 13.94%. The turnout for Selby District was 13.88%. The highest percentage of residents to vote was Harrogate with a turnout of 15.56%.

The overall turnout for the previous Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner election in May 2021 was 25.33%.
