Two concerts will take place to raise money for charities supported by the chairman of Selby District Council this year.
Cllr Ian Chilvers has selected Long Covid Kids, which represents and supports families, children and young people living with the effects of Long Covid and related illnesses, and Yorkshire Cancer Research as his chosen charities for the year.
On Saturday, November 19, his Charity Prom Concert takes place from 7.30pm and features Paula Marie, the Vintage Vocalist and The Yorkshire Volunteers Band and the Corps of Drums.
That will be followed on Saturday, December 3, by the Chairman’s Charity Christmas Carol Concert, starting at 7.30pm and featuring the Yorkshire Volunteers Band. Both take place at Selby Abbey.
Cllr Chilvers said: “It is a privilege to be able to support such important charities in my year as chairman. The concerts will raise money for Long Covid Kids, which supports children and young people living with long-term effects of coronavirus, and the Yorkshire Cancer Research.”
Tickets are available from Selby Abbey, the Selby Times office or online at www.thelittleboxoffice.com/SelbyDCChairman fr. Tickets are priced at £12.50 from the Abbey or £10 if booking online. Money raised will be split equally between the charities.
