Selby District Council is once again offering free parking on Saturdays in December, as part of efforts to support town centre businesses at their busiest time of year.
This means there will be no charges at any of the Council’s car parks in the town. Car parks in Tadcaster and Sherburn remain free to use too.
Leader of the District Council, Cllr Mark Crane, explained, “We’ve seen some fantastic new investment in Selby over the past couple of years and there’s a lot of offer. The run-up to Christmas is a great time to explore our local shops and places to eat – and now it’s even easier with free parking every Saturday during December.
“One of our priorities continues to be how we help our town centres to thrive. We’ve promised changes to car parking charges in the long-term to help local traders, but this additional free parking at the busiest time of year is another practical way in which we can offer support.”
The council runs 10 car parks in Selby town centre. Full details here of where they are can be found.
