Throughout February 2021, Selby District Council are offering a range of free online workshops and webinars to support retail, tourism and hospitality businesses in Selby District.
Together with experts from across the District and North Yorkshire, the free business support workshops and webinars will help businesses working in retail, tourism and hospitality plan ahead for reopening, understand how they can adapt their business and use marketing tools to reset for recovery.
Retail businesses within the District are invited to a 1-hour session that will be delivered by Ian Sadler of Insight6 on 10th February. The session will look at how retail businesses can get ready for reopening and welcoming people back, as well as sharing and discussing issues faced by retail businesses and working together through issues to a positive outcome.
The free hospitality workshops, taking place on the 10th and 17th February, explore how Covid has changed the way customers think and looks at ways in which hospitality businesses can engage with customers in a meaningful way and build customer confidence, so they’ll want to return. The sessions, delivered by Paula Kaye from the Boost Consultancy, will also work through creating a plan for reopening, seeing it as an opportunity to review and reset.
Businesses working in the visitor economy are welcome to join the upbeat, positive and practical workshops with tourism marketing specialist Susan Briggs, taking place on 16th and 23rd February. The sessions will look at the marketing tourism businesses can do right now to bounce back quicker and stronger post-Covid and talk about what marketing is needed to make business more profitable and feeling less overwhelmed. There will also be an opportunity to ask marketing questions, such as how to get more followers on social media or how to drive more traffic to your website.
Executive member and Selby District Councillor, David Buckle, explained, “We’re really pleased to be able to support retail, tourism and hospitality businesses by providing these online opportunities. Not only do they deliver practical advice and help with planning ahead for reopening, it’s also an opportunity for businesses within the District to come together, to share experiences and collectively work towards a positive future.”
