Drop and shop – local in Selby

Get your Christmas shopping all done, support local businesses and keep the children happy in one go!

Selby shoppers can take advantage of ‘drop and shop’ by leaving the kids at the Summit Indoor Adventure for Saturday shopping in the town on three Saturdays in the run up to Christmas.

The additional children’s activity offer from the Summit is part of Selby District Council’s work to support local businesses.

Leader of Selby District Council, Cllr Mark Crane, said, “The run up to Christmas is always incredibly busy for all of us. This is just one way we can help busy families get the shopping done that they need to do while supporting local businesses.

“Practical support like this is part of our wider work to support growth and jobs by encouraging residents to shop locally and to encourage more shoppers to come into our district.”

Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles Managing Director, Pete Burt, said: “This is a great initiative which alleviates some of the time pressures families face at this busy time and supports our retail colleagues on Selby high-street.”

Qualified staff will be on hand to supervise children on the climbing walls, bowling, skate park and at the indoor play area.

‘Drop and Shop’ will be offered on Saturday 24 November, Saturday 1 December and Saturday 8 December from 9am until 3pm and is suitable for ages 5 to 11, costing £15. To book call 01757 293292.
