Following last month’s successful Tour de Yorkshire roadshow in Sherburn in Elmet, there’s another chance to find out more about the race and how business can benefit and communities can celebrate at a special event in South Milford.
The district will play host to two consecutive days of racing in April and it is important that you are prepared to make the most of this exciting opportunity.
The event is open to all; you may be a business looking for opportunities on how to capitalise on the race or a community group looking to host a street party.
The roadshow will provide you with a chance to find out more about the race and how you can make the most of this opportunity. The roadshow schedule will present attendees with a Q & A opportunity and advice on brand guidelines and the dos and don’ts. The event will be hosted by Welcome to Yorkshire in partnership with Selby District Council.
Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, Gary Verity said, “We are delighted to be bringing two consecutive days of racing to the Selby district. Last year’s race was hugely supported in the Selby district and we really want communities along the route to embrace the race and opportunity this brings to showcase the area.”
The next roadshow in the district is to be held in South Milford at the Women’s Institute on 17 February at 5pm (registration from 4.30pm). To avoid disappointment we recommend that you book your place as soon as possible.
Cllr David Peart, Selby District Council’s Executive member for housing, leisure, health and culture said, “The district will be showcased once again having two consecutive days of Tour de Yorkshire racing. It is important that everyone makes the most of this wonderful opportunity to help promote the district to the national and international audience. For this reason it is important that as many people as possible access the free advice that is provided at the roadshow in South Milford.”
