The government has announced multiple grants to help businesses affected by the Tier restrictions. Selby district is in Tier 2, this means certain businesses are unable to open.
There are two new grant schemes available for businesses to apply.
- Christmas Support payment for Wet-led Pubs
- The Local Restrictions Grant Payment Scheme (closed)
The Christmas Support payment for Wet-led Pubs is a one-off payment of £1000 to support wet-led pubs which have been severely impacted over the Christmas period due to local restrictions.
The Local Restrictions Grant Payment Scheme (closed) will support businesses which have had to close due to Tier 2 and Tier 3 local restrictions from the 2 December. This support will be ongoing until the restrictions change.
These grants will help businesses such as public houses who do not serve substantial food, pubs which receive less than 50% of revenue from the sale of food and businesses that were open as usual before the change in restrictions.
Leader of Selby District Council, Cllr Mark Crane said. “This year has been like no other for all of us, especially businesses. Local businesses have continued to show how resilient they are, these grants will go a long way to help those who have not been able to open or do business since the 2 December.
“I strongly urge all eligible businesses to apply for these grants.”
Businesses who are eligible for multiple grants will need to apply for each grant separately.
Businesses who have previously applied for the Lockdown Restrictions Grant will also need to reapply for these grants.
