Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Testing

If you have coronavirus symptoms:

Coronavirus symptoms are:

  • A high temperature
  • A new continuous cough
  • A loss or change in your normal sense of smell or taste

If you have any of these symptoms, please self-isolate and book a test through this link: gov.uk/coronavirus.

If you don't have coronavirus symptoms:

You can take a test if you do not have symptoms. Find out more about rapid lateral flow tests here.

You can order these online, collect from a pharmacy or collect from a testing site between 2.30pm and 8pm. The Selby testing site is in Portholme Crescent Car Park, YO8 4YR.

Workplace rapid testing

An online portal has been launched for businesses to find out more about offering rapid workplace testing. Businesses will be provided with all the information they need to plan and deliver their testing programme, along with promotional materials.

Self-isolation

If employees test positive for Covid-19 they need to self-isolate immediately for a period of 10 days. If employees will miss payment due to self-isolation, they can apply for support here.

Test & Trace

The NHS Test and Trace system is to help identify those who've been in contact with people who test positive for the virus. Find out more about how this works.

If they contact you and ask you to self-isolate you may find that you need to ask for help from family, friends neighbours and trusted local groups. If you don't have anyone you can call on for help, you can contact the North Yorkshire County Council customer service centre who'll signpost you to the right support. Call 01609 780780 Monday to Sunday 8am to 5.30pm.
