Coronavirus has impacted the way the Council makes decisions. Prior to the passing of new regulations by the Government, some decisions were taken using urgency procedures by the Leader of the Council and Senior Officers. The regulations made under the Coronavirus Act 2020 are now in effect until May 2021 and as such, Selby District Council is now delivering remote meetings. The meetings will be on Microsoft Teams, viewable online by the public. The agendas for these meetings will be published as normal on the Council's website. Remote meeting procedure rules have been produced by the Council's Monitoring Officer and are available to view at Part 4.10 of the Council's Constitution at www.selby.gov.uk/constitution-council
How often are the Licensing Committees held?
We have a provisional calendar of meetings. The Licensing Committees are usually held on a Monday every 4 weeks. However, this may change depending upon the volume of business.
The Remote Meetings Regulations provide flexibility in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and allow meetings to be moved, called or cancelled without further notice. For this reason, the public are encouraged to check the Council calendar in case changes have had to be made at short notice. If in doubt, please contact Democratic Services on firstname.lastname@example.org for clarification.
