The role of the Environment Board was to:
- Carry out the budget and policy framework for:
- environmental health
- health and safety
- countryside projects
- building control, and
- waste collection - Recommend new ideas to the Policy and Resources Committee
- Deal with:
- Environmental Health
- the condition or improvement or clearance of private dwellings or caravans
- matters covered by Acts relating to Environmental Health
- drains and sewers within the District and outside the District where appropriate - Submit an annual work programme, including the programme of any Task and Finish Groups appointed, to make sure the Board's time is used effectively and efficiently, and
- Carry out any strategic, corporate or cross-cutting work requested by the Policy and Resources Committee
