Community Engagement Forums (CEFs)

Coronavirus is affecting the way in which we make decisions. We're no longer holding public meetings in order to reduce face-to-face contact to protect our residents, staff and councillors. However, our committees have started meeting remotely now, including CEFs.

CEFs are currently offering financial assistance to local volunteer groups and networks who are responding to or recovering from the coronavirus crisis. Find out more.

Do you want to get more involved in what happens in your area?

Our Community Engagement Forums are a chance for you to do that.  These are public meetings at which you can raise any concern or make a comment about what's happening in your area.

The people who deliver your local services are at these meetings.  The Forum is a chance to speak directly to these people.  You can raise any issue, for example about policing, street cleaning or road safety.

There are five Forums in the Selby district.  Each covers different towns and villages.

Chairs of the CEFs are:

  • Cllr Ian Chilvers (Central CEF)
  • Bob Procter (Eastern CEF)
  • Cllr Mike Jordan (Southern CEF)
  • Cllr Richard Sweeting (Tadcaster and Villages CEF)
  • Bryn Sage (Western CEF)
