What’s the job?

Our Business Transformation team works closely with teams across the council to support the delivery of projects, improve the way we work and how residents can access our services. To do this, our main focus is on implementing new technology, digital services and service improvement.  

If you’re looking for a role that will challenge you and allow you to develop your skills and experience, then this role could be right for you, as we are a small project team that is currently implementing a major new system. 

You will have training and support to work flexibly.  

As a Business Transformation Project Officer, a typical day might include the following: 

  • Working closely with the project manager, other teams and suppliers.  

  • Supporting process re-design and interpreting service teams’ needs into workable effective solutions. 

  • Training teams to make the best use of the technology available.

You’re a good listener. You can understand and interpret other’s needs. You’re able to follow through and deliver their needs effectively.  

You’re able to work with different and new technology, especially Microsoft Office programs. You can think on your feet. You like learning new things and can learn quickly. When things change suddenly you can easily adapt. 

You can work effectively as part of a team, to meet project and corporate objectives.  

To be successful, you need to have some previous experience of supporting, delivering, or planning projects, especially where you can evidence using technology to improve services. If you’re successful you will be expected to work with different software daily. You need to have experience in basic IT and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
