What’s the job?

Benefits and Taxation are responsible for the assessment and payment of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support to people on low income to help them pay their rent and Council Tax. 

We also bill and collect Council Tax for domestic dwellings and National Non-Domestic Rates for commercial properties.

We are moving forward by looking at new innovative ways to deliver these services digitally and this is an exciting time to be in our service area.

This role offers combined homeworking and office based working.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and well organised team player to join us in delivering a professional and exceptional Benefits and Taxation service to the public.

You will need a keen eye for detail and the ability to handle complex data.

You must be reliable, confident and able to work under pressure being able to perform accurately and within performance deadlines; as well as dealing with customer enquiries.

Ideally, you will have an understanding of Housing Benefit; Council Tax Support; Council Tax or National Non-Domestic Rates; however experience is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.
