19 June 2012 - You've done us proud!
A sunny Selby district day for the Olympic torch as it made its way from Hull to York.
Crowds turned out in force at all the relay points along the route: Camblesforth, Selby, Monk Fryston, Barkston Ash and Tadcaster.
Thank you to all our residents who helped to make this such a success for the Selby district.

Click on the following link for details of the roads along which the torch will travel that morning. You can also use this website so watch the torch as it makes its way around the country..
Here's a detailed map of where the torch runners will be.
In between the 'running' sections, the torch will be carried in 'convoy mode', which means it will be taken by road.
Who decided the route?
This has been done by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG). Selby District Council is supporting the torch on its journey through our area.
Will there be disruption to traffic or local businesses?
Inevitably there'll be some delays in the areas through which the torch passes, but this is a great opportunity to celebrate something special within your local community.
The District Council has been in touch with a wide range of local businesses to ensure they have the information they need about the torch procession.
Your local Community Engagement Forum is also involved in a special mini-Olympics the weekend after the torch relay (Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 June).
