Electoral Registration
Electoral Registration at Selby District Council is carried out by the Business Support Team who administer, update and publish the Electoral Register for the District on behalf of the Returning Officer.
Don't forget - when you move home, you must tell Electoral Registration about your new details. You must do this even if you have already informed the Council Tax department. Please complete one of the following forms if you need to register with us:
You can also contact Electoral Registration by completing our Online Enquiry Form.
Each year in Autumn, we prepare the next Register of Electors by canvassing all households in the District. The new Register is published on the first working day in December. We are also responsible for processing the applications of residents who have moved house during the term of the Register, under the rolling register procedures.
The rolling register procedures allow us to:
- Add new electors
- Remove those who have left, and
- Make amendments to elector's details, for example a change of surname after marriage.
Under the Representation of the People Act, it is our responsibility to distribute and sell both versions of the Register of Electors.
