Licensing Policy - pdf
It is the policy of Selby District Council to check that licensed and registered premises comply with the relevant legislation and guidance.
Officers carry out regular inspections of premises to make sure high standards are maintained in the areas of public safety, animal welfare and preventing nuisance. If we find that premises are below the set standards, we will require the owner of the business to improve standards.
Officers are always willing to offer advice to new or established businesses to help owners operate within established guidance, conditions or byelaws. The licensing team works closely with the Police and Fire Brigade to ensure that public safety is maintained.
