Terms and Conditions of doing Business
Selby District Council's Terms and Conditions are set out on this page and apply to all contracts, orders and purchases unless alternative terms and conditions are contained in a contract or agreement between the Supplier and Selby District Council or are provided to the Supplier by Selby District Council and are deemed to be attached to every Official Purchase Order issued by Selby District Council.

Supplier and Contract Management System
See the YORtender website for registration of supplier details whilst this implementation is carried out. Please try to avoid duplicate supplier registrations wherever possible. One supplier profile can have up to five individual users registered against it.
Registration to the YORtender system will be free of charge.

Online Procurement Course - Winning the Contract
This is a FREE resource to help businesses, and in particular SMEs (Small & Medium sized Enterprises) learn about public procurement and how to bid for public sector contracts. The course introduces businesses to the key procurement processes, including:
- Identifying the advantages and disadvantages of dealing with public bodies;
- Understanding how different types of contracts are defined, advertised and dealt with;
- Understanding approved supplier lists and framework agreements;
- Searching for and finding public sector opportunities; and
- Identifying the key stages in the tendering process.

- National Procurement Concordat for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises - pdf - A statement of principles to encourage effective trade between local authorities and small businesses.
- Whistleblowing Policy - doc - The Whistleblowing Policy has general application to all employees of the Council. This includes both permanent and temporary staff and also covers agency personnel and staff seconded to a third party. Contractors working for the Council may also use the provisions of this policy to make the Council aware of any concerns that the contractor's staff may have with regard to any contractual or other arrangement with the District Council. The private concerns of the contractor relating to any non-Council business should be raised with the relevant contractor and/or other suitable agency including the Police, if deemed appropriate.
