May - Green waste

We're talking about green waste and composting this month and we're giving away a free compost bin!

Composting cuts your household waste, reduces landfill and is great for your garden. Selby District Council residents can enter our competition to win a 330L black compost bin and caddy, thanks to the York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership.

You could also buy low cost home compost bins by visiting www.letstalklessrubbish.com. Prices start from £12 plus delivery. The website also has a wealth of composting information and advice – ideal if you’re just starting out composting.

How to enter

To enter, simply email your name, postal address and telephone number to communications@selby.gov.uk, with "I’d love to compost” in the subject line. Or send the same details on a postcard to Marketing & Communications, SDC, Civic Centre, Doncaster Road, Selby, YO8 9FT. Entries should be received by 31 May.
