Making the most of the race in Tadcaster

Throughout race day Tadcaster will host a special cycling themed festival.  There's loads going on to keep you entertained throughout the day.

So why not stay in the town all day to watch the women's start, the men's start and see the race finishes on a big screen?

Tadcaster Cycle Festival will be held in locations across the town, but predominately along St Joseph's Street.  There'll be a wide range of entertainment and interactive stalls to keep you busy throughout the day.

This includes...

  • A Minster FM roadshow and stage, with live acts throughout the day
  • World Champion Trial Biker Jack Carthy will be doing demonstrations
  • Live street art by graffiti artist Sledone, who'll be creating a commemorative piece for the town
  • Vintage Bikes on display at the Riley Smith Hall
  • Tadcaster's 'Tour de Canard' duck race on the river, setting off from the viaduct
  • Street entertainers Granny Tourismo and Wacky Wheelers fun bikes
  • Balance Bikes demos
  • Big screens showing the race live at the bus park and social club car park

There's loads of things going on along the race route too, including the Yorkshire Regiment Drumming Corps marching through the town, a charity bike ride and children's bike parade.  Alongside the stalls offering food and drink in the town centre, and local cafes too, you can also get bacon butties, scones and hot drinks at Tadcaster Methodist Church on the High Street between 8.30am and 3pm.
