February - Love Food Hate Waste

Saving you money, saving your food...

We teamed up with York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership to help you make the most of your leftovers. We organised a roadshow and cookery demonstration at Selby Market in February as well as a stall at Morrisons - together the events reached more than 600 people!

Chef Nigel Brown shared his leftovers recipes and the York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership were on hand with advice and leaflets to help you Love Food Hate Waste and make the most of your leftovers.

Nigel said, “Looking forward to delivering our Love Food Hate Waste cookery demonstrations at Selby Market. If you are in the area why not pop along to see the demonstrations, taste some of the food and learn more about making the weekly shop last longer!”

Nigel demonstrated the following four recipes.

Recipes:

Chicken & Cauliflower Fritters

Mushroom Tagliatelle

Broccoli & stilton scones

Chicken, leak & potato soup

North Yorkshire Rotters volunteers were also on hand to give information and advice about reducing food waste and saving up to £60 per month.
